Swiss Steak

Quick, easy, and traditional. This recipe will help you get dinner on the table quickly.


  • 1 1/4 pounds patio steak
  • 2 Tbsp. unbleached white flour
  • sea salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 can tomatoes, diced Italian Style, 14.5 oz.
  • 1/2 cup onion, yellow , sliced
  • 1/2 cup celery , sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrots , sliced


  1. Combine the flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. Sprinkle over the steaks and press in.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet.
  4. Brown the meat on both sides; drain off excess fat.
  5. Add tomatoes (undrained), onion, celery and carrot and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, until meat is tender.
  7. Skim off any fat that comes to the surface.
