Salt Craft Dough

This all-purpose dough is a very inexpensive source of entertainment.  I’ve used this recipe for school projects and to pass the time on a rainy day.  You can have a batch ready to go in minutes, and it can keep your family occupied for quite some time.  If you are going to make ornaments or want to hang the finished product, remember to poke a hole at the top using a drinking straw.

2 cups  flour

2 cups  salt

1 cup  water

Mix flour and salt together in a bowl.  Add water gradually to form a dough.  Knead into a soft dough.  Dough can be rolled out and cut with cookie cutters, pizza cutters, etc.  To make ornaments, poke a hole in the top of the ornament before baking.

Bake dough at 200 degrees for about an hour, or until dry.  Cooled cutouts can be painted and varnished.
