Sugar Free Apple Pie

Sugar Free Apple Pie

Looking for a sugar free dessert that doesn't use synthetic sugar substitutes? Try stevia. It is an herb that is about 250 times sweeter than sugar that has been used around the world for decades. The natural sweetness of the apples, plus a small amount of stevia will make you think you are eating the real thing!

  • Pie Crust:
  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks), softened
  • 8 oz. cream cheese (1 package), softened
  • 2 cups flour
  • Apple Filling:
  • 6-8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ cup flour
  • dash nutmeg

  • ¼ cup butter, sliced into pats

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and cream cheese.

  3. Divide dough in half.
  4. Roll out half of the dough on a floured surface in a circle to fit the bottom of a 9” pie pan.
  5. Place all ingredients except butter in a large bowl and combine.
  6. Pour into the unbaked pie crust.
  7. Place pats of butter on top of the filling.
  8. Roll out the second half of the crust and place over the apple filling.
  9. Press edges of top and bottom crust together with a fork to seal.
  10. Using a knife, cut several small slits into the top crust so that steam can escape.
