Garlic Parmesan Wings

Garlic Parmesan Wings

Wings are an American staple. There are restaurants dedicated to them, and they come in all flavors and seasonings. These use a combination of olive oil and butter; you get the health benefits of the olive oil and the taste of butter. These are baked instead of fried, and my family loves them.

Ingredients

  • 12 chicken wings cut into segments (discard the tips)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder or granulated garlic
  • ½ tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. onion powder or granulated onion
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Line a cookie sheet with foil.
  2. Place the flour, garlic powder, sea salt, onion powder and pepper in a gallon sized reclosable bag and shake to combine.
  3. Add the wing segments, a few at a time and shake to coat.
  4. Place wings on cookie sheet and refrigerate for 60-90 minutes.
  5. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter.
  6. Add olive oil and ½ cup parmesan cheese.
  7. Whisk together until combined.
  8. Dip the wings into the butter mixture, coating completely.
  9. Place on foil-lined cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 25 minutes.
  10. Turn wings over and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  11. When wings are finished, remove from oven and sprinkle remaining ¼ cup parmesan cheese over wings and serve.
