4 cups milk
8 ounces (2/3 bag) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. vanilla
In a two-quart saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat. After about 2 minutes, add the chocolate chips. Stir frequently so that the chocolate doesn't scorch. When the mixture is warmed through and the chips are melted and completely combined with the milk, remove from heat and add the vanilla. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream. Serves 3 to 4.
Optional: Use a stick blender to froth the hot chocolate before pouring into mugs.
