Sloppy Joes

You don't have to rely on canned sauce to make your own tasty sloppy joes.

2 pounds    ground beef

1 can           tomato puree (28 oz.)

1 medium   onion, chopped

2 cloves      garlic, minced

1 Tbsp.        packed brown sugar

1 tsp.            Worcestershire sauce

Brown ground beef in a large skillet or dutch oven. Once the meat is evenly browned and broken up into small pieces, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes; drain any excess fat and return the pan to the heat. Add remaining ingredients and heat to a simmer. Stir the contents frequently to keep them from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Serve in hamburger buns. Serves 8.
