It's a summertime classic. Don't get me wrong, the stuff you can get in a can is good... but nothing replaces the real thing. Adjust the sugar to your own taste preferences. If you want to make it extra fancy, use club soda instead of plain water, or add 1/4 cup grenadine syrup to the final product for a cherry lemonade treat!
1 cupfresh squeezed lemon juice (about 4-5 medium sized
lemons)
¾ cupgranulated sugar
5 cupswater
1 med.lemon, sliced (for garnish, optional)
Combine all ingredients in a
2-quart pitcher and mix until sugar is dissolved.Serve chilled or over ice.Makes approximately 6 cups.
