Forgotten Cookies

My future brother-in-law introduced me to these cookies in college.  A little bit cookie, a little bit candy, they are easy to make and are great for a light dessert after a big meal.  It's also gives you something to do with extra egg whites if you don't feel like saving them for an omlette.

2 egg whites

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

3/4 cup chocolate chips

In a mixing bowl with mixer on high, beat egg whites and cream of tartar untill stiff peaks form.  Slow down the mixer and gradually add the sugar.  Fold in chocolate chips by hand.

Drop cookies by teaspoon onto a well-greased cookie sheet.  Place cookies into a preheated 275 degree oven.  Turn off the oven and allow cookies to dry for 3-4 hours.
