Berry Napoleons

You can substitute any fresh fruit for the berries for a quick seasonal dessert.

1 pint         strawberries, washed and sliced

3 Tbsp.      granulated sugar

1 Tbsp.      water

12 ea.        wonton wrappers (in the refrigerated produce section)

2 Tbsp.      melted butter

4 Tbsp.      granulated sugar

½  tsp.        cinnamon

1 c.             heavy whipping cream

Combine strawberries, 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, and water in a bowl and set aside. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place wonton wrappers in a single layer on a foil-lined and greased cookie sheet. Brush wonton wrappers with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake until crisp, about 7 minutes. Allow the wrappers to cool on a wire rack before assembling the dessert. Use a mixer to beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Assemble the napoleons by placing a 4 wonton wrappers on individual dessert-sized plates. Spread 1/3 of the whipped cream and berry mixture evenly between the four wontons. Repeat two more times. Serves 4.
