1 lb. uncooked ziti
1 lb. loose Italian sausage
1c. chopped onion
3 cloves garlic,
28 oz + 15 oz spaghetti sauce
1 can diced tomatoes undrained
2 15 oz cans ricotta
2 eggs
1 T Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 c. shredded mozarella cheese
1/2 c. grated paremsan cheese
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cook ziti according to the directions on the package and drain. Brown sausage with oninon & garlic. Add sauce & tomatoes to the browned sausage mixture. Combine ricotta, eggs & seasoning. Put pasta in baking dish. Add 4 cups of sauce mixture and combine. Spoon the ricotta mixture evenly over pasta and top with remaining sauce. Bake for 45 minuntes. Top with cheeses. Cook for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese has melted. Serves 12-16.
